NGC 2343 - an open star cluster in the constellation Monoceros
NGC 2343 - ist ein kleinerer offener Sternhaufen im Sternbild Einhorn. Er ist etwa 3.400 Lichtjahre vom Sonnensystem entfernt und wird nach Trumpler der Klasse III 3 p zugeordnet. Er beinhaltet etwa nur 20 Sterne und wurde im Januar 1785 von William Herschel entdeckt.
Object description
NGC 2343 - is a smaller open star cluster in the constellation Monoceros. It is about 3,400 light-years from the solar system and is classified as Trumpler Class III 3 p. It contains only about 20 stars and was discovered in January 1785 by William Herschel.
