Objektbeschreibung: NGC 2670 ist ein eher unscheinbarer offener Sternhaufen im Sternbild Vela. Er beinhaltet etwa 30 Sterne und ist knapp 4.000 Lichtjahre vom Sonnensystem entfernt. Nach Trumpler wird er der Klasse II 2 p zu geordnet. Entdeckt wurde er 18. Februar 1836 von John Herschel. Object description NGC 2670 is a rather inconspicuous open star cluster in the constellation Vela. It contains around 30 stars and is just under 4,000 light years away from the solar system. According to Trumpler, it is classified as class II 2 p. It was discovered by John Herschel on February 18, 1836. |
