NGC 5822 - Open star cluster in the constellation Lupus
NGC 5822 ist ein an Sternen reicher offener Sternhaufen im Sternbild Wolf (Lupus), der sich wenig von den vielen Hintergrundsternen abhebt. Er beinhaltet etwa 150 Sterne, wird nach Trumpler der Klasse II 1 r zugeordnet und ist ungefähr 3.000 Lichtjahre vom Sonnensystem entfernt. NGC 5822 wurde am 3. Juli 1836 von John Herschel entdeckt.
Object description
NGC 5822 is a star-rich open star cluster in the constellation Lupus, which stands out little from the many background stars. It contains about 150 stars, is assigned to class II 1 r according to Trumpler and is about 3,000 light-years away from the solar system. NGC 5822 was discovered by John Herschel on July 3, 1836.
