IC 443 - A wide-field view of the Jellyfish Nebula in the constellation Gemini
IC 443 - auch bekannt als Quallennebel, ist ein galaktischer Supernovaüberrest im Sternbild Zwillinge. Die Region ist ungefähr 5.500 Lichtjahre vom Sonnensystem entfernt. Sein Alter ist unklar, im Internet sind Angaben zwischen 3.000 und 30.000 Jahre zu finden.
Weiter zeigt unser Bild östlich von IC 443 die schwache H-II Region LBN 845 und die offenen Sternhaufen Messier 35, NGC 2158 und Collinder 89.

Object
description IC 443 - also known as the Jellyfish Nebula, is a galactic supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini. The region is approximately 5,500 light-years away from the solar system. Its age is unclear; estimates ranging from 3,000 to 30,000 years can be found online.
