A wide-angle view of the Milky Way in the constellation
Vulpecula from Messier 27 to NGC 6823 |
|
Object description:
Our mosaic of part of the Milky Way in the
constellation Vulpecula is the last of many raw images taken by us at Onjala
Lodge between March and October 2019.
In the left image segment is the
Dumbbell Nebula, Messier 27, and in the right
segment is the emission nebula Sharpless 2-86 with
the open star cluster NGC 6823. The mosaic is broken up by other emission
nebulae and some dark clouds. The total exposure time was 3.5 hours.

Higher resolution images, taken with longer focal lengths, with
corresponding object descriptions of Messier 27 are shown
here (Widefield) and
hier (Detail) and of the emission nebula Sh 2-86 and NGC
6823
here.
